John Gore (born 1962) is the sole owner, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The John Gore Organization formerly known as Key Brand Entertainment, Inc. (KBE), a leading developer, producer, and distributor of live theatre in North America. Gore founded KBE in 2004 to develop theatrical properties in the US. Broadway Across America (BAA) was acquired in January 2008, from the music company Live Nation, while the e-commerce theatre website Broadway.com was acquired in December 2010, from Hollywood Media Corp. In 2008, Broadway Across America and Broadway Across Canada sold over 6.4 million tickets throughout its 40 theatres in the United States and Canada.

Broadway Across America (BAA) is the premier presenter of Broadway musicals and plays for the touring market in the US and Canada. Based in New York, BAA manages the touring subscription series in over 40 markets across the United States and Canada and invests in Broadway productions. In addition, the company owns and operates a number of Theatres:

  • Boston: Colonial Theater; Charles Playhouse
  • Minneapolis: The Historic Theater Group (Orpheum, State, Pantages)
  • Baltimore: The Hippodrome

Broadway shows presented by BAA during recent theatre seasons include Rent, Wicked, The Lion King, The Producers, Phantom of the Opera, Light In The Piazza, My Fair Lady, A Chorus Line, Spring Awakening, Fiddler on the Roof with Topol, and many others.

Early career and education

Gore, was educated at Harrow School and graduated in film and theatre from London University in 1987. His student production of Joe Orton's What The Butler Saw enjoyed a successful professional run at the Bloomsbury Theatre. Mr. Gore's producing and/or directing credits on the West End include: Thunderbirds F.A.B. (produced first in 1989 is currently the most revived show in the history of the West End, returning for a sixth time in 2002); Star Trek - the Lost Voyage of the Enterprise; and Wallace & Gromit. Key Brand Entertainment was formed in 2004 and has been an active investor in theatre and theatre related businesses prior to the BAA acquisition. Gore is a past member of the Society of London Theatre, which he joined in 1992 and a member of the Board of Governors of The Broadway League since 2008. Gore received Tony Awards for Best New Musical 2010 for Memphis and Best Revival of a Musical for La Cage Aux Folles; Best Revival of a Play for Boeing, Boeing in 2008, Best Revival of a Musical for Hair in 2009 and for George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess in 2012. In 2010 Gore received the Olivier Award for Best New Musical for the London production of Spring Awakening.

In 2010 Gore was nominated for a Prime Time Emmy Award for Outstanding Non-Fiction Special for Believe: The Eddie Izzard Story.
